830 Garscube Road
We're currently developing a small site on Garscube Road to provide a single close of 8 flats, all for social rent. The property will provide 4 x 1 bedroom flats and 4 x 2 bedroom flats and will now complete in early 2017.
The project was initially intended to be built along with the Association’s adjoining property at 840 Garscube Road, but planning consent was not granted at that time due to no car parking provision. The Planning authorities have now agreed that the site can be developed with no off-street parking provided for the residents.
The 8 flats will all be to a very high energy-efficient standard and will benefit from photo-voltaic (PV) cells installed on the roof to provide electricity to the property.
The project has proved challenging, working within a confined site area and causing some unavoidable disruption to neighbouring properties, but hopefully these will benefit from the vacant gap site on Garscube Road being in-filled and the street view improved in the area.
