Woodside Heating and Hot Water System (Ecopods)

We are planning a programme of work to install new billing units for your heating and hot water system as we are moving to a new provider. We aim to complete all installations by 31st October 2026, at which point we will be shutting off access to the current payment system. If your installation hasn’t been completed to change the unit, this will result in you not having heating and hot water.

The new billing unit has an individual SIM card and will replace the current Ecopad screen. The benefits are:

  • It will display your current balance
  • Reduces the risk of blank screens
  • Payments made will be credited immediately, which avoids the current delay over weekends and bank holidays
  • Topping up in advance is essential to receive heating and hot water

Our contractor, Solis, will begin contacting you over the coming months to arrange a suitable date and time to attend your property.  During that visit, they will change your billing unit to a new, upgraded one as well as servicing your heating and hot water system.

If Solis can’t make a mutually agreed arrangement for access, they will pass any failed access attempts to Queens Cross. We will then contact you to offer support and answer any concerns or questions you may have and arrange to book you in for an appointment.  

On installation, you will be provided with a Customer Pack, including a user guide and a new prepayment card, which you should use to top up once the new unit is installed. If you have any questions on the day, the engineer will be happy to help. 

Any credit you currently have, will be transferred over to the new account and a final statement will be sent to you. To support you, we will ensure there is still £10 emergency credit available to give you time to top up if you run out of credit. 

We may have been in contact to arrange an appointment or will be getting in touch in the next few weeks.

The installation can take around 2-3 hours and the engineers will need clear access to the cupboard where your Heat Interface Unit (HIU) is. If you have shelves or are storing items in here, please ensure these are removed in advance.

If you are an owner and rent out your property, please ensure your tenant is aware they need to give us access for installation.
