What is participatory budgeting?

Participatory budgeting (PB) is recognised internationally as a way for local people to have a direct say in how, and where, public funds can be used to address local needs. The Scottish Government supports and promotes Participatory Budgeting as a tool for community engagement. Participatory Budgeting is intended to encourage people to take an active interest in their community and get involved in local decision making.
