Sharing Lives, Sharing Spaces

Sharing Lives eventSharing Lives, Sharing Spaces launches

In September, we launched a new initiative promoting engagement with the Chinese community.

The project, called Sharing Lives, Sharing Spaces, aims to help the Association get to know Chinese tenants in the Woodside area better by offering access to free English classes, money and welfare rights services, children’s activities and cultural events.

The project was established following an award of £80,000 from Scottish Government’s People and Communities Fund.

What’s next for the project?

Since launching in September, Project Officer Shawn based himself in Cedar Hub, 65 Cedar Street. Since then he’s been out speaking to local people about the project. Shawn said: “We’ve got a lot to do but there’s a real feeling of positivity in the Chinese community which is great to see.”

Here are just some of the things we’ve got coming up for the project.
