After acquiring the brownfield site at Leny Street in March 2015, or latest development is now taking shape.
The main works commenced in June 2015 and are expected to complete by summer 2017
This prominent site, which has been derelict for the last 15 years, provides views south to the City Centre and north over Ruchill Park and previously had planning approval for a private development which the developer was unable to progress.
McTaggart Construction are building 68 flats for the Association, all for rent in 3 separate 4-storey blocks, providing a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom flats.
Unlike other recent Association projects, there will be no Shared Equity provided in this development.
Total project costs are £7.845m, with £4.216m grant funding approved by Glasgow City Council and the Association having to fund the remainder through a private loan.
The initial works have concentrated on ground preparation works to the retaining wall onto Panmure Street.
