The search is on for your Queens Cross unsung heroes.

We’ve launched our third Pride of Queens Cross Awards to celebrate local community champions.

We’re accepting nominations from anyone who lives or works here and who would like to recognise a special tenant, resident, community group or member of staff.

You can also nominate yourself or a group you’re part of to promote the good work that often gets done without recognition.

Seven categories

The awards are for all Queens Cross tenants and staff and are being made across seven categories, including awards for outstanding service to the community, a young community champion, community leaders and the environment.

For more information on all seven categories, view our dedicated website page here.

Health and wellbeing

New for this year is an award in Health and Welbeing. This category recognises groups or individuals passionate about health and wellbeing and who have put their ideas into action.

‘Our recent tenants’ survey identified health and wellbeing as major issues for our tenants,’ said chief executive, Shona Stephen.

‘We’ve appointed a new community Health and Wellbeing Officer and this award will recognise a project or individual that is making a real difference to the health of our communities or in the workplace.’

Thank you OPC and all our sponsors

This year’s main sponsor is OPC Ltd. OPC is a renewable energy consultancy with expertise across renewable technology from ground source heat pumps through to solar energy and biomass.

OPC’s operations manager, Allan Brown said:

‘We have worked closely with Queens Cross in helping them to deliver innovative, cost effective and efficient renewable energy systems for their homes, so we are delighted to be sponsoring this year’s awards.

‘OPC is very much part of the Queens Cross community and we can’t wait to see the fantastic work that’s going on to make a great neighbourhood even better.’
