Looking to the future at Queens Cross

Monday 28 January 2019

Some of our young employees at Queens Cross2018 was our most successful year ever in creating work opportunities for young people.

All under the age of 26, nine people joined the association in various roles including two modern apprentices, two trade apprentices and three trainee graduates.

The association worked with local schools to offer short-term work placements, and honoured young people at our recent Pride of Queens Cross Awards in November.

Last year’s drive was part of our support for the Scottish Government's 'Year of Young People' initiative which aimed to champion young people aged up to 26.

And with apprenticeship and work experience opportunities already underway, we are committed to continuing the trend in 2019.

“Last year was an exciting time for Queens Cross, with so many talented young people joining the association,” Chief Executive, Shona Stephen, said.

As a diversity champion, the association is also working with Stonewall to deliver work experience to LGBT people aged 18-25.
