A day in the Life

Handyperson Team Leader

The Handyperson team, takes it in turns, to start their day at 8.00am.  Checking with the contact centre for any emergencies, this work gets prioritised and completed by relevant team members.  The team are always available for emergency jobs between 8.00am and 5.00pm.

 Every morning, team members also check for any repair lines that need completed that day or week.  From lock changes, taking access to flats, boarding up broken windows, repairing gates and fences, repairing window catches, changing bulbs in offices and complexes, programming fobs, the list goes on and on.  Repair lines vary so much that no two days are ever the same. 

 Day to day, the team is very responsive to call out needs.  Ensuring any emergencies and repairs are dealt with in a ‘right first time’ attitude.  This is only achieved through the excellent team work of the team and great working relationships with colleagues and managers.


On a daily basis, the Handyperson team are also responsible for the playpark upkeep.  The team work together to ensure that the playparks are de-littered, bins emptied and any repairs dealt with.  This includes ensuring any graffiti is removed in the playparks, keeping them clean and safe for the community. 

 One of the most important daily tasks the team undertake is the environmental duties.  This involves common area maintenance that ensures that the surrounding areas are not only clean but safe for all our tenants. 

 To sum up a day in the life of a Handyperson in one word . . . varied.
